    • Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa
  • ZAR 500 - ZAR 800 per hour
  • Microsoft Services (MIC&PRJ)

Job description

At DVT, we build technology solutions that solve real business challenges. As a leading software engineering and technology consulting company, we partner with clients across industries to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions using modern engineering practices and emerging technologies.

DVT is partnering with a leading enterprise client to build secure, scalable, AI-powered platforms that will transform how teams work, automate decision-making, and accelerate business outcomes.

We're looking for a Senior AI Software Engineer who combines deep .NET engineering expertise with modern AI development practices. This role is ideal for a senior software engineer who can build robust APIs, cloud-native services, AI orchestration layers, and enterprise-grade solutions leveraging Azure AI technologies.

This is a hands-on engineering opportunity where you'll architect, build, and deploy production-ready AI systems rather than experiment in isolated proof-of-concepts.

Job requirements

What You'll Do

As a Principal AI Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in shaping and delivering enterprise AI capabilities that are reliable, secure, and scalable.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and building enterprise-grade AI applications using C#, .NET, and Azure.

  • Developing high-performance APIs and microservices that integrate with AI and machine learning capabilities.

  • Building intelligent applications leveraging Azure OpenAI and Large Language Models (LLMs).

  • Designing and implementing Agentic AI solutions capable of autonomous task execution and workflow orchestration.

  • Developing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions using vector databases and semantic search.

  • Building reusable platform services that enable AI adoption across the broader technology landscape.

  • Creating robust integration layers between AI services and enterprise platforms.

  • Implementing MLOps and DevOps practices to support reliable AI deployment and monitoring.

  • Ensuring solutions meet enterprise security, governance, and compliance requirements.

  • Providing technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural guidance to engineering teams.
